How come Sunstreaker's pet doesn't look robotic since it was part of the insecticon swam.....?

I assumed it was a deformed Swarm, and therefore more animal like than humanoid-robotic. A good issue though and enjoyable story. Not sure it quite worked as a spotlight as Hoist felt more like one of a couple of main characters rather than the star of the show, but it was a good read nonetheless, with decent cameos.
