I quite like these pre-war Cybertron stories and its good to see Drag Strip in a starring role for a change. Feels a bit like Spotlight Blurr with a TF as an arrogant celebrity. I presume the would-be assassin is Afterburner?
Interesting isn't it how Ironhide is shocked to see Cybertron in such a state? He ought to be familiar with it seeing as he's lived there for a year or so during AHM - so maybe this is a past version or parallel universe Ironhide transported to the present day?

It will certainly make things interesting, he doesn't even seem to be expecting the swarm.

I think the assassin is actually Outback. As for Ironhide's confusion over the state of Cybertron, in the synopsis it states that Ironhide wakes up on Cybertron with considerable memory loss, so all the flashbacks he's having are pieces of his memory coming back. On the final page it looks like Metroplex is back and we'll probably find out what he was hiding in his spotlight.

Ashamed to say I didn't realise it was Metroplex. It looked like just a nice splash page to me! Its a pity comics don't do those narration boxes any more. What do you think of the issue guys? I enjoyed it a lot, particularly the flashback to the SL Blurr era, but too many panels are dialogue light and could easily have been combined to fit in much more storytelling. I guess (like Ironhide) I just hanker for the good old days.

I really enjoyed the issue. I think the pace was just right for the way the comic is being set. I still think its got that Lost feel but I think it works in this. The flashes back to the days before the war work well and really stand out in contrast to him wandering through a deserted Cybertron. I think the pacing is just right here as otherwise I think you would lose the effect of him being on his own and him starting to question his sanity wouldn't seem appropriate at a faster pace. Also I think it helps make the scene when he is attacked by the Swarm have more impact and feel more frantic.

I'm, liking this so far. Definitely a JJ Abrams what the %*$% is going on feel.
Something I'd like to point out, he's reformatted his alt mode. Now I always have thought of that as an intentional process. Makes me wonder if this Ironhide ever went to Earth. From most other TF fiction, once a Bot changes their Alt mode they tend to only change them again when they go to a new planet and have to. Generally going back to Cybertron they seem to tend to just stay as is.
Maybe this is a clone of Ironhide or its going to turn out the one who got killed was a copy or something...
I realise now the black robot that spoke to him must have been Scamper if its Mr Plex at the end.
Bearing in mind the swarm is still about will be interesting to see if Streaker is seen, be it as remains or not.
We shall see.

more i look at this the more i think this isnt our ironhide.
its ironhide from the past in todays universe.
which probably means theres a whole heck load of continuity screw ups coming up if he doesnt end up going back.
of course he could just have amnesia.
