First of all; I notice that Bumblebee now has parallel black stripes down his chest. WTF . and his transform is a Camaro?? I'll leave that powder to dry before I light the match. I didn't realise that other combiners didn't have their combi-ability yet and I thought that was why Hot Rod wasn't overly enthusiastic about the Stunticons rescuing Breakdown, because they may form (the most spectacular piece of art this series has seen yet IMO) Menasor. So this means Combaticons cannot form Bruticus etc... ? Swindle has again done what Swindle does best (who didn't see that coming!?) and Hot Rod looks like an even bigger douche than before. These past 5 issues are leading us to what should be a great battle, IDW certainly don't mind killing off characters! aaah, my match is lit. I'm struggling to find positive things to say though, because I may be a more narrow minded GeeWunner than I could've ever expected! Due to Bayblebee's camaro appearance, and inspite of what is thus far; a good story arc, unless issue 6 thrills my balls off I can't see myself renewing my subscription. I may wait for the TBP instead. It kills me that much, to see a character I don't feel any great attachments to, become a shitty bayformer. I've tried endless paragraphs to try explain how i feel about this and i cant get it right, so i'm leaving it as is. it just sucks

I think we may just have to accept that an 80's VW Beetle is just not cool enough. I do think they could have chosen a different car, something less conspicuous, seeing as this was not seen as a movie-verse tie in comic. At least that way he could stay true to being the spy/scout that he was supposed to be. A camaro kinda stands out!
I think an explanation on the gestalt tech would be handy. As someone has commented on a different thread, the last we saw was Jhiaxus' Monstructor. Swindle almost seems like he has flicked a switch, or downloaded a patch!! I would have thought that to have a team combine, they would need some heavy engineering done to them. Maybe I'm looking into it too much! Or maybe they did, but just needed the latest code to 'activate' this new mode??
The characters are growing on me though. Magnus is really cool, and I am interested to see how Thundercracker's new found sense of interest with Earth will pan out.

I'd rather Bumblebee transformed into a modern VW Beetle than a Camero. It's not a deal breaker for me, just mildly annoying. I'm assuming the genie is out the bottle regarding gestalts and there are now numerous combiner teams. It may be that the Earthbound Autobots haven't encountered Menasor before so his entrance is quite a shock.

Yeh, Magnus is awesome as the unbending law enforcer.
In BB's mini-series (i haven't yet read) he was still a VW right?
Swindle definitely triggered something... can't tell what. there's no way, with so many autobots around, that he could've been secretly working on a Menasor project.

Yeah, BB was a VW in his series. I agree Steve, maybe Menasor was on another planet before reinforcing Megs forces on Earth. I wonder what the first Autobot gestalt will be? I reckon the technobots, since they were introduced in Stormbringer, it would make some sense that they experiment on themselves, or they pick five "volunteers" to work on before perfecting the process on themselves, since Computron was supposed to be probably the most complete gestalt, Autobot wise.
