Is it me or does Jetfire bear a passing resemblance to Vector Prime? Seems like Hot rod might lead a breakaway set of Autobots.

I'm really struggling with this artwork, it's distracting in it's ugliness.

That seems to be a universal criticism. I haven't seen any posters on the IDW boards or elsewhere who are raving about the new face/body styles, its either indifference or outright opposition. I wonder if Don will take note and revert back to his old style or something else?
Lovely to see Brawn making an appearance, one of the original '84 cast and all that. Coming on the back of Streetwise and Breakdown last issue it seems like there's going to be many more characters on Earth in this series than the drip-feed of cast from the early Furman IDW stuff. Is that Hotspot on the last page or Grimlock? I can't tell.
My money's on Hot Rod leading a breakaway faction and Bumblebee bossing around the remaining few, so that would explain why BB's leading a team in his miniseries. This story has a Crisis of Command feel to it, which is all good, and while the story is interesting/entertaining I can just about live with the ugly faceplates.

PS - I wonder why Omega Supreme is gracing the incentive cover? Could he be throwing his hat in the ring for the Autobot leadership?

Read #1 just a few days ago; story´s developing nicely, #2 seems to be moving in a good direction as well. However, the art ain´t pretty. The bodies are done nicely to OK, not too much to complain here, but the faces look to much like the movie designs which I find utterly atrocious. Hope DF will go back to drawing non-ugly bots *sigh*.

Is that Hotspot on the last page or Grimlock? I can't tell. Reckon it's Hotspot, seen as Streetwise has already appeared in the first issue, it would make sense for all the other Protectobots to be there. I'd quite like to see the Autobots break up into subgroups, obviously Bumblebee has a group for his extended Spotlight probably consisting of Brawn and Cliffjumper and some others, Hot Rod (or Rodimus) will have a group who want to try and leave Earth, then a third faction led by either Jazz, Prowl or Jetfire. As for the artwork, after reading the first issue a few times I've got used to it and quite like it now. I really want to see what Hot Rod changes into now.
