I've been in contact with Chris Ryall and Denton Tipton of IDW with an idea for a Ravage Spotlight that I had and was hoping to get printed. However, their response to me was that there are to be no more Spotlights. This saddens me quite a lot, not just because I won't get my idea out to the rest of the TF fans, but because the Spotlights we've had so far have quite often been the highlight of the story arcs we've had, in my opinion. So it looks like there'll be one last phase of Spotlights to come after the present one because on Simon Furman's blog, dated 31st March, he says he's working on 2 top secret Spotlights. Personally, I feel we should start up a petition on the IDW forum to continue the Spotlight series.

Your not wrong. I enjoy the fact that you can just pick them up and you have a self contained story. Most of them do link into the main story arcs to varying degrees but there is still that one issue story. I think it will be a shame as the Spotlight series makes the Transformer comics more accessable to people who until now have not been readers.

Fear not I'm sure it's not the end of the spotlight stories. Don't forget the ongoing series is starting later this year so any of those issues can be used to focus on a particular character. Or they could run two stories per issue like in Coda. IDW makes good sales on Spotlights so it'd be strange to drop them all together.

Ask them if they are running spotlight stories in the ongoing in future. They could focus on a particular character for an issue (thereby making it a spotlight in all but name) or run a spotlight as the back-up strip. If not it seems we aren't going to get any more Decepticon spotlights after all this waiting.
