Just seen on the IDW forums a thread about the next Spotlight staring Cliffjumper coming out before Spotlight Metroplex. Yet another Autobot Spotlight to complete this wave of 5 Autobot Spotlights.
Looks like it'll be set on an alien planet with links into AHM, probably set before AHM.
I'm hoping that soon they'll do a large number of Decepticon Spotlights as we are quite short on them. So far, if you include the 4 upcoming spotlights and Revelation spotlights we've had 17 Autobot, 4 Decepticon, 2 Dead Universe and Doubledealer (neither Autobot or Decepticon but I still think of him as a Decepticon).

I for one am really looking forward to this. in Very few lines, Cliffjumper has been one of the most interesting characters in AHM, hope this carries on into the spoltlight.

I'm definately looking forward to it, as I do with all TF books. I'm just hopeful that sometime soon we get some more Decepticon Spotlights.
I'd really like to see Dreadwing+Darkwind get a joint Spotlight or Scorponok get one even though he's had quite a bit of air time recently in Max Dino's. Also I think Scourge should get one since both Galvatron and Cyclonus have had one.

Looking forward to this one. It would be nice to see why cliffjumper is always so eager to jump to conclusions. I wonder if they have any ideas to do a spotlight on the Quintessons? When are we going to get an explanation to their 'appearance' in spotlight wheelie? (It was wheelie's one wasn't it?)

I am totally with you on that one, Scourge is way too cool to be left out of the IDW continuity, they should use him. Dreadwing and Darkwind were in Stormbringer briefly as i recall, I wonder what they did after getting off Nebulous, again plot thread potential

Yeah it was Wheelie's, but with that spotlight the main part was set sometime in the future according to Simon Furman so we may have to wait a while to find out about the Quintessons.

Starscream says "We've beaten the only real threat we've ever faced. I can see what's coming, can you. Who will it be? Scourge?" This leads me think that in the past Megatron and Scourge haven't seen eye to eye and that Megatron may be in fear of Scourge, which would be an interesting twist and give Scourge a lot more power than just being Cyclonus's sidekick.

Why are there so few Decepticon spotlights I wonder? Maybe IDW thinks Autobot books sell better, but I'd like to know the answer. Starscream and Scourge could both be good and I'd like to see Ravage - he was a joy to read in the Marvel story Crisis of Command.
zedebo how do you know Cliffjumper is coming out before Metroplex? I haven't read that anywhere.

I notice the cover is shown in the buy comics section, who are the transformers in the background? Will Cliffjumper be in love with the girl shown on the cover looks very mangaesque, will this harken back to the marvel days when Skids was in love and kept getting soaped down by Jesse the human, I so wanted ravage to finish him off back then

Lol. I liked Skids, he seemed to be the main character for a time and then melted into the background once more. He's not the only one who's romanced an 'organic' - remember The Girl Who Loved Powerglide, and that Pretenders/Mecannibals story on the planet Femax.
Dunno who the Decepticons are on the cover but I personally prefer the Casey cover B.

Don't forget also Seasprays story in the G1 cartoon where he became an alien and fell in love.

Hi Steve, will you be putting this SL on the Buy Comics page soon, I'm holding out on ordering AHM:Coda, ROTF movie adaption and SL Metroplex until you put it on.

Okay I'll do it this weekend. I would have already except there is no info available about the story, but I suppose I can fudge something. There's a spotlights subscription page on the site at the moment which includes the Blurr SL so I'll also create an option for people who have Blurr and just want the other spotlights.

Well, I've gotta say, I was throughly disapointed with this SL. The tale, to me, seemed to lack any kind of excitement and pace. It will fade out of my memory just like SL Mirage.
I'd have thought after all the panning that earlier AHM's got that Shane McCarthy would have made sure that his SL's showed some pacing and energy. I thought that SL Drift, his other SL, did just that and really enjoyed it, however, I feel that this was a step backwards.

Yeah, the pacing felt dragging like the first few AHM issues. Liked the potrayal of CJ a feared badass, though.

Gutted. I'd written a lengthy reply with thoughts about this spotlight and my connection died, lost the lot.
But in short I was saying that I enjoyed this spotlight and found the relationship between CJ and the children quite touching and it didn't feel forced at all. I found myself genuinely caring what happened to them.
Nice little commentary from the lead Decepticon about the Autobots being no different to the cons, just a different faction. In the fog of war there is probably little to seperate them and CJ seems a pretty deadly customer when he's doing his assassin thing. It's interesting to see that he's also capable of compassion where his friends are concerned, and in a way his time on the planet is about him rediscovering the part of himself that makes him better than the enemy.
Bit of a shame we didn't see him laying waste to the cons at the end, especially as that made the ending feel more abrupt than it needed to be, but I liked the idea of CJ using a Decepticon's faceplate to hammer the cross. There was a discussion on IDW boards about how CJ could best so many cons, seeing as he's only a little guy.
But as someone said it makes sense in a way that these characters who have survived millions of years of warfare would be better soldiers than the average grunt.
Overall a pretty cool spotlight I thought. A couple of minuses, mainly the similarity to SL Wheelie, but not bad at all I thought. It might be one that people appreciate more at the second or third read.
