I really can't wait for this. Metroplex is one of my all time favorites and yet he hardly ever gets any story time or development. It should be interesting seeing how they are going to incorporate him into the IDW universe. I remember he was just being built in the Dreamwave universe when they went belly up.

It's a news item on the OneShallStand home page. IDW announced at the New York Comic Con last weekend that its doing a spotlight Metroplex in July and to convey his sheer size it'll be double pages all the way. I'm not sure that's such a great idea because it'll surely be a lightning fast read.
The other thing they announced was All Hail Megatron Coda - a four issue mini series containing eight stories all by different writers, that bridges the gap betwen AHM and the Furmanverse AND sets-up something big for the Autumn.

They could use this as the opportunity to introduce Metrotitan. It would be the battle where we get to see the twin brothers battle it out. Since not many would match his size for a brawl.

Judging by the sneak preview of the front cover art work it looks like Metroplex will be MASSIVE. Would be good to see some of the titans involved in a story, Metroplex, Metrotitan, Omega, Fort Max, Trypticon and Overlord. Related question, why is it that Fort Max is always portrayed as a normal size bot and Metroplex as a behemoth? In the toy range Fort Max is at least three times the size of Metroplex.
Also, really looking forward to the AHM Coda. The last issue (7) of AHM really started to get some continuity going which was very pleasing, sounds like this four issue run should really close all the gaps.*
*Please let it explain the change in Reflector!!! :-)

The reason Fort Max isn't bigger than Metroplex in the comics is because he's a Headmaster and it would need an incredibly large human to form the head of Cerebros and then Fort Max and in the comics Fort Max transforms into a battle station not a city.
I can't see Coda explaining the change in Reflector because AHM is set in the modern day whereas SL:Wheelie is set sometime in the distant future.
Coda should be good (hopefully) 8 mini stories over 4 issues sounds like the good old days of Marvel UK. Thank God Simon Furman's involved!

I always enter on the scans page so my bad. The Coda issues sound good. The spotlight focus seems to be exclusively autobots, maybe coda will have some decepticons as the main stars ;D

Funny how they now (have to) come up with a Coda to fill up all the continuity gaps caused due to AHM´s bad writing *insert rollie eyes*

Let's return to the main thread on this page, ie Metroplex.
If Metroplex is around now why on Earth didn't the Autobots set him on the Decepticons earlier, like before AHM so that they wouldn't have ended up being trashed all over the universe.

Could be any number of reasons, I mean for one thing we don't know when this comic will be set. Also if there is an Autobot traitor its possible could have disabled Metroplex. Remember the transformation cog and also when all the Transformers were getting infected Rodimus Prime shut him down (both from cartoon).

The Cog and infection only happens in the Rodimus Prime universe. I don't think the comic will go that direction.

Have you all seen the cover for this in the IDW forums - Metroplex and Cliffjumper covers - Metroplex looks awesome, and theres the return of Sixshot and all the Throttlebots make an appearance, wonder if Goldbug will be a seperate entity from Bumblebee, like Galvatron and Megatron are.

wonder if Goldbug will be a seperate entity from Bumblebee, like Galvatron and Megatron are. If you are lucky, Goldbug could turn out as Bumblebee's long lost brother.....

The only time I remember Goldbug in the DWverse was in MTMTE and he was a rebuilt Bumblebee in that.

I'll check tonight but I'm pretty sure you saw them as two seperate characters as if I remember rightly in the Sunstorm story Bumblebee was in charge of a group of Autobots on a ship and Goldbug was with him.

I think you're thinking of Bumber. I've checked who was Bumblebee's ship, The Orion, and they where Powerglide, Seaspray, Cliffjumper, Cosmos and Bumber.

That's correct, Goldbug has not appeared in the Dreamwave stories, only in the MTMTE series. It would be nice to see Goldbug as a separate character to Bumblebee, and as people have said, seeing as the rest of the Throttlebots are there, why not?

That should be Bumper rather than Bumber.
