Hiya I found this info' just thought I'd share it Seems that the next spotlights will continue as part of the -ation series and that Cyclonus is up and Hardhead. I love Cyclonus and think he is one of the coolest decepticons. In Target 2006 he was great though afterwards his character seemed to change and he and scourge were both more like idiots who continually messed up. I hope we get something like the former character back ryalltime.blogspot.com/2008/03/revelations-revealed.html

ah I missed that as I enter from scans page Doesn't mean you can't discuss about it though. So what do you think? Some speculation on Sideswipe and Doubledealer for the other two spotlights

I'm not so sure whether on keen on this approach as the spotlights have been focusing on one character which is fine for the one issue stories but I'm not so sure about it over four issues each focusing on a different character

Some speculation on Sideswipe and Doubledealer for the other two spotlights These two are now confirmed as Revelations Spotlights. To a certain extent I agree with the sentiments expressed in the previous post. Spotlights appeal because they are one-off, self contained stories, but to use them as a vehicle to tell the story of Revelations must surely alter the format quite drastically. I suppose we'll have to see how it turns out. To be honest I can live with the Spotlights being used in this way - what worries me more is that 4 issues won't be enough to wrap up all the plot threads that have been dangled through the 'ation' series. From a retailer's point of view I always found the spotlights just shade the ongoing in terms of sales. I spoke to Chris Ryall at a signing last year and he said that had been IDW's experience too, so I'm not surprised to see the company embracing Spotlights big-style. My theory is that All Hail Megatron will fill the traditional ongoing slot, and rather than have two ongoing books at the same time, IDW has opted to make Revelations a series of spotlights.

I know what people mean about the whole wrapping it up in Spotlights idea, it has an air of Black Horizon about it, i.e we're bored now lets wrap it up doubletime... Lets just see what happens. Lets face it, we'll all buy and read it anyway lol.
Curious to see what they do with Cyclonus, bearing in mind they made Galvatron independant of Megatron, will Cyclonus be independant from Skywarp? It seems likely.
The thing I think is a shame is that up till now most of the spotlights for characters (ok not Prime) were to give background to them before they entered the main storyline, but Dealer, Hardhead and Sideswipe have already been introduced, so it seems a shame there's so many other characters that havent got a look in.

I'd say so. I take it Unicron won't feature at all in the IDW-verse?

I doubt they could resist not using him for long.

Curious that no-one has talked about the Cyclonus Spotlight. As it has been out a while I guess it is safe to discuss it. I loved it! Especially the characterisation of Sideswipe ticking off the bad guy. I get the impression that the dead universe 'bots can only stay a limited time in the real world before they de-activate for good. Cyclonus looks a bit samurai-esque dunno if anyone else agrees with that!
