Cool, thought I'd have to wait till next week to get this Looks like Swindle running the door to the Decepticon base too. Colours seem to be a lot lighter than the previous issues, which is good too. It seems a shame that Eric's sticking with mostly characters from the TV show's 1st season. What I'm really enjoying about Simon's continuity is the sense of never knowing who's going to show up next, which isn't really the case with "Origin".

It'll be in stock on Friday. It should have been in today but the suppliers messed up. All copies will be posted by the weekend.
As you can see above I've created links to the images. Is that Optimus in the crowd on the last page?

Looks that way, looks like he's got his arm around ?Elita 1?. Also behind him at the bottom right looks like Magnus without his armour. Also as someone else pointed out, Soundwave uses a rub-sign to identify himself

I like the fact that megs and the others are being 'beefed up' by the constructicons to stand up to the autobots. Nice Pic of the bots funeral too. I spot (anticlockwise from 12 o'clock) Ratchet, hoist, Brawn, sentinel prime, (-helmet) Chromia, Ironhide, wheeljack, gears, prowl, windcharger, Optimus, (with arm round aleta-1) Magnus, cliffjumper, bumblebee, bumper. Any others? Look forward to it Steve.

Hmmm, got this today and again, a real mixed bag. Art is a lot better (only had to read it twice to know what was going on ) but then they go and stuff up the colouring of Senator Decimus, at first he's the colours we see in issue #1, then he's coloured almost the same as Sentinel Prime...... After the meeting of Soundwave & Megatron in the last issue I was looking forward to seeing Megs meet Ratbat, yet we don't even get this. Also would have liked more background to the Seekers as they didn't seem quite as down & out as the other arena contestants. I also thought that someone had said the fem-bots in the 1st issue were just an in-joke, but they keep popping up. I haven't got anything against them as such (if a robot can lust for power and glory surely they can lust for......other things ), it's just the cheap tokenistic way one or two show up (in all continuities) as Autobot eye candy (why no Deceptigirls!) rather than being proper characters. However, was nice to see some more Transformers (even if Eric Holmes is sticking mostly with bots from the TV show), Grimlock, Sunstreaker & Sideswipe, and a surprisingly confident Dead End! I also liked Megatron's speech, good justification for the whole Decepticon ethos...... What is starting to puzzle me is why most of the covers for this mini-series seem to be about Megatron's personal "demons" (e.g. covers 2B; 3A, and from the looks of the ad in issue #3 4B) yet apart from the bit where he hesitated to kill Cy-kill he doesn't seem that bothered about his violent behaviour, so why all the psycho covers....? Overall I came away from reading this feeling like not much had happened, but it has set up what will hopefully be pretty good climax in issue #4

This was leaps and bounds better than the previous installments. The panels on the most part were understandable and flowed much much better. There were one or two confusing ones, but that was mainly due to the amount of bots and action being fit into small panels. The cameos keep rolling in. I expect there are none G1 bots in there, but they are difficult to recognise. Also interesting to see that Grimlock was there (and possible Sunstreaker) in the mass meeting. This adds the possibility of back stories for those who were initially arena fighters, but decided to become Autobots. Starscream as usual is up to his scheming ways and it looks like Ratbat got more than he bargained for and is probably regretting biting off more than he can chew. Yet again Sentinel Prime is living up to his matcho bad boy image. Hopefully, Megs Origin #4 will go out with a bang (and be on time unlike the others which have been beset with delays )

It was okay but still WAY too confusing than it needs to be - that goes for the storytelling as well as the art. It needs those Marvel narration boxes to tell us what the hell is going on because litterally every reader is saying they had to read it twice to work out what was going on.
I hope issue #4 delivers the goods or it could be a while before we hear from Eric Holmes or Alex Milne again.

Yeah got to admit I been having some problems understanding all of it, I think I'm going to wait to I got the whole set and read throught them all a few times. Hopefully the story as a whole will be a lot more fluent.

I think part of the problem is that there is far too much crammed in far too few issues, consequently the story seems to jump from point to point rather than having a more fluid flow to it. In reality the whole mini-series could have been spread over a much larger pre-war arc that ran alongside the -tion main storyline. Also as noted it would help if there were some kind of naration.

I got to agree that this series would have been served better with a larger issue run rather than 4 as there is so much potential here with all the different characters. Shame IDW didn't decide on this they could have made more profit, I'd buy more ;D

I don't think the length of the story or the number of issues is the problem - it's that the script is somewhat opaic and the art fails to tell the story.
Maybe it'll read better as a whole or when I come to review it and study it closer. I mean, Stormbringer was a four parter and you could work out what was going on there. It was a little arty farty to the point of being slightly unclear (mostly the flashbacks) but overall the story could be followed.
Also, the criticism of Infiltration was that it was a four part story spread over seven instalments. It's hard to strike a balance I guess but no reason why four or six instalments isn't more than sufficent to tell a coherent story.

Read it and agree that it is somewhat confusing. Admittedly though I wasn't paying a great deal of attention to it first time round. When I re-read it later I was like 'oh, that makes sense, why didn't I pick up on that before?' I thought it was a lot packed into one issue which is good for the pace. Nice to see all the cameos in there - did anyone spot cloudburst and waverider flying over Autobot security HQ?
The approach IDW have taken with the Cybertron backstory is very different to what Marvel, or even DW came up with. I like the idea of the Decepticons rising out of asub-class and a pompous ruling body representing the seat of power in Cybertron. I'm not, however, over-keen on the Autobots starting out as a security force and the 'Prime' simply being the head of that force. Prefer the whole matrix and mysticism thing myself.
P.S> why did they give Prowl fangs?

Just read it. I liked it. Like the way he told Screamer "everything" coz we know he's going to spill the beans. Maybe Megatron knew from the get go he was a treacherous swine.

I thought this one really picked up from the last two. Really enjoyed it. As for Screamer - who thinks it's a setup?
