Not sure why, maybe ehobby thought that it would be more appropriate as a reissue? The original release of Twincast shows him as an autobot. Only ehobby can answer this I guess

So that's basically Blaster and his cassette with a Soundwave colour scheme. I wonder why the packaging is in English and the enclosed leaflet is Japanese.

Im not entirely sure but i remember reading something about this ages ago! I seem to remember that ehobby had a job lot of boxes left over from their run on Magnificus (the black re-issue of Perceptor who was an evil decepticon) and since they were the appropriate size etc they simply re-used them with a re-packaged Twincast. I guess they felt they could get away with it at the time cos Twincast's mini cassette Flipsides was billed as a deception sleeper agent. It would also help explain the difference in the languages maybe

The wordings in front, those logos are in English but when you turn to the back where the techspecs used to be, the text are all in Japanese.

in the "Headmasters" tv series, Blaster (Broadcast in the japanese market) and Soundwave have a brawl in the artic and destroy each other ( Soundwave actually appeared to be Ok - but then explodes...? lol ) in an early episode and are then rebuilt by their respective parties, Soundwave first from memory, becomes Soundblaster and is a black re-color, then Broadcast is rebuilt as Twincast. and like some of the comics , the animal cassettes can speak ... and sound dumb.

i forgot my point...
it used to be cool when hasbro and takara recolored toys back then because they were still the same character and there was a story for the release.
These days hasbro make countless recolors of some of there models and often attach different names and work them into whatever the current wave of toys may be. That really annoys me for some reason.

the animal cassettes can speak ... and sound dumb. But lets face it the dumb speech is worth it in the naff star tv dub for the comedy value of Blaster being called "Billy" lol. "The Resurrected Billy Against The Decepticons". How is that for a quality episode title.

Ravage spoke in Marvel UK as did Ratbat in the US run and were better for it. Blame crappy writing and hilariously god awful voice acting for cassettes sounding bad.

If I remember correctly, Ramhorn speaks in the episode where the cassettes went to a dimension to search for Daniel where a Quintesson pretends to be a wizard..... And this episode is not a Japanese "dub"
