Bravo!!!! I am sooo liking the references to the original Marvel comics with the characters. Although, where the hell did Prime get those wings on his back?? Still, I'll overlook that for the fact that this seems so freaking awesome! Ratchet has a personality matching his cartoon character! Impactor! Xaaron! Megatron of Tarn!

Oh wow, that is amazing, I'm really wired for this issue, that looks to be exactly what I want from a Transformers comic! Loving the art, the dialogue, the characters featured, the little references to what has come before. This has the potential to be the most exciting Transformers release that IDW have done to date, EXTREMELY excited now!!

I am not exactly a reader of the whole Marvel TF series.
Who is the guy with the drill arm drinking with Megatron? He doesn't seem to be the same golden guy talking to Optimus as he doesn't have the drill arm anymore.

Killer, that drill arm guy would be Impactor. He is a character Simon Furman invented and was the leader of the Wreckers during the uber classic Target:2006 story which Marvel UK published in 2006 to tie-in with the original Transformers Movie.
Although not part of the toy range, and therefore not an official Hasbro Transformer, Impactor with his no-nonsense manner and harthingy arm made a big impact with fans. I won't tell you what happened to him in that story because you really need to read it, but suffice to say that Roche and Roberts revived him for Last Stand of the Wreckers in 2010 so he's now part of the IDW-verse.

So Impactor and Megatron were friends? So like the epic Universe IDW is creating with the Transformers. ;D

just got through reading this today. mother of god ! if this is going to be the norm in the new ongoing im going to be in heaven. at LAST a good , meaty read - it takes ages to read this compared to most other comics - that has pathos - layers - character develpment, wonderful stuff. best of all it FEELS like it knows its readers are smart and gets you wondering if what your reading is actually what the characters really mean or are trying to mislead each other. i got the distinct feeling megs was trying to wind prime up in places meaning you have to try and find the nuances in what he's saying. brilliant BRILLIANT STUFF (and i just LOVE prowls line on what should happen to megs at that meeting ) lads GET THIS ! seriously you wont be disappointed. IMO its the best TF comic in years.

I have read #'s 21 and 22 so many times in the past week. I agree, it is probably the best comic to come out of IDW since LSoTW. The characters are so well drawn and portrayed, and you get the feeling that Prime and Megs have developed a mutual respect for one another.

I've been away for the week so only just had the chance to read 22. I'm REALLY impressed, I think 22 is the single best Transformers comic that IDW have released in their whole time with the francise. I was blown away when I finished it, and immediately re-read the whole thing. To those who said to hold out for James Roberts' writing, I bow my head, this guy is the business, I can't wait for the next one to come through. The dialogue between Prime and Megs was awesome, at one point I felt a real sympathy with Megatron's cause - that's never happened before! And I really got off on all the little nods to what had come before, I'm a bit of a continuity freak so it's important to me that everything feels like it ties together. Bring on Chaos!
